After MARIA KRAJEWSKA had moved from her native Poland to Finland, she wanted to bring something unique back to her homeland on her next visit. It turned out to be difficult, so she decided to set up an online store where it would be easy to find unique art, design and handicrafts.
Madeby.fi created a new concept with the help of a few friends and a great deal of enthusiasm. Now, a year later the store includes the works of sixty designers, artists and craftsmen. The group consists of both well-known artists and future stars, including TIINA PALM (I Made This), moumou Design, Kaipaus, Mielikuvituskirahvi and Olivia Rouge.
Creative Space of Madeby is a fashion show organized by Madeby.fi for invited guests only, during the Helsinki Design Week. The show will present collections by ANTTI ASPLUND, MARITA HUURINAINEN, TYRA THERMAN, Kaipaus and Jolier among others.
“The theme of the show is storytelling and our aim is to bring some fairytale magic to the runway,” Krajewska explains. “The show includes 11 designers, all of which will tell their own story in their own way.”
