Katariina Lamberg and Anna Ahonen.
Ahonen & Lamberg, a graphic design agency based in Paris, consists of Finns ANNA AHONEN (b. 1981) and KATARIINA LAMBERG (b. 1977). Both studied graphic design in Helsinki and knew of each other, but only properly met and started working together over in Paris.
Ahonen & Lamberg does graphic design and illustrations as well as visual conceptualization. Their clients include Lacoste, Love Magazine, Uniqlo, Maria Luisa, Cerruti, and in Finland among others IVANAhelsinki and boutique Nina’s. Ahonen and Lamberg are also co-founders of Dossier magazine and responsible for the graphic look of the publication. At the moment their agency keeps Ahonen and Lamberg so busy that they could even use a good assistant.
“Working in Paris has never been a real big choice for neither of us. We simply love being here. Our characteristic thing is combining different styles in a way that’s always elegant, but in some way surprising.”
Ahonen & Lamberg is also in charge of the visual look of this year’s Helsinki Design Week. “Designing the look for Helsinki Design Week seems like a real dream project, because we’ve been given full creative reign to make the event week look like us.”
As the graphic designers of Helsinki Design Week, Ahonen and Lamberg are also in charge of designing the look of Helsinki Design Week Magazine 2010, which will be released alongside We Are Helsinki’s September-November issue, aptly dubbed The Design Issue, on August 20, 2010. †
