Superjanne a.k.a. JANNE VAKKILAINEN, a true do-it-all of Finnish hip hop, has kept us waiting for his debut album for nearly four years. Seems like the wait has been worth it, though. Named after the rapper-singer-producer-songwriter’s native Helsinki district, Munkkisaari is a down-to-earth record that doesn’t beat around the bush. At the same time, it’s a harmless summer collection of shamelessly upbeat organic soul and hiphop. I dare you to find a Finnish MC with a sweeter singing voice than Superjanne.¨
